My Approach to Therapy and Areas of Focus

Seeking support for yourself is no small feat, and I am truly honored to have you here to explore the individual therapy services I offer. Whether you’re navigating personal challenges, working through past experiences, or seeking greater emotional balance, I am here to walk alongside you in this process.

I believe each person is unique, and therefore, I strive to tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals at this moment in your life. I see therapy as a collaborative partnership, where you are the expert on your own experience, and I provide support, guidance, and tools to help you navigate the challenges you're facing. Together, we will work to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I am endlessly curious about how the mind, body, and spirit operate as a whole. Our experiences, struggles, and challenges leave imprints on us in ways that affect how we navigate the world. I believe in the importance of integrating emotional, physical, and relational aspects of healing. My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining traditional modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with body-centered, relational, and present-centered awareness practices. For example, you’ll often hear me inquire about how your body is feeling during session and support you in exploring the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.

Therapy is a process of self-exploration and transformation, and I am committed to helping you understand how your experiences and emotions shape your life and your ability to move through the world.

If you're ready to begin or would like to learn more about how I can support you, I encourage you to reach out.

Anti-Oppression Statement

As a cisgender white therapist, I recognize the privilege and responsibility that come with my identity, and I am committed to creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, respectful, and sensitive to the diverse experiences of all individuals. I understand that systems of power—such as racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, and classism—can impact mental health and well-being in profound ways. These systems often contribute to inequality, marginalization, and trauma for individuals from historically oppressed groups.

In my practice, I aim to approach each person as a unique and multifaceted individual, honoring the intersectionality of identity and the complexities of personal experience. I am committed to acknowledging the ways in which systemic oppression affects mental health and to exploring how these factors may show up in our work together. My goal is to create a safe and affirming space where all clients feel heard, valued, and supported.

I continuously engage in self-reflection, learning, and unlearning in order to be an advocate for social justice. I also believe in the importance of recognizing and addressing any biases I may hold, and I am committed to challenging oppressive attitudes and behaviors in myself and in the therapeutic process.

I recognize that healing is not only a personal journey but one that is shaped by the broader societal context, and I strive to work with you to navigate these complexities in a way that feels empowering and authentic to you.
